Pentax Optio X digital camera

Pros
Small, Slim and Stylish. Great for jacket pockets and purses.
5 Megapixel sensor helps provide reasonably high quality pictures
X3 Optical Zoom lens (25mm to 105 mm equivalent)
Large (2-inch), high resolution (210,000 pixel) LCD display
Unique 270 degree twist design makes shooting from high (overhead) or low (toddler level) camera positions a cinch
Twist design also makes self portraits easy
Choice of three metering options: multi-segment, centre-weighted and spot
Multifunction USB cradle allows the camera to be used as a webcam
Duration of movie clips is limited only by available memory
Comes with 14MB of built-in memory
PictBridge, Epson PRINT Image Matching II and Exif Print compatible
USB Mass Storage compliant
PC and Apple Mac compatible

Cons
No optical viewfinder
Can only store images in jpeg form which is compressed. There is no TIFF or RAW mode. So sadly, you cant get the best from the 5 MegaPixel sensor.
No focus assist lamp
Movie mode is limited to 320x240 at 15fps
USB charging cradle is larger than the camera itself, not great for travelling
The 14MB built-in memory stores only 4 pictures at highest quality, and the Optio X doesnt come with a separate memory card (budget for a good sized SD card)
Uses a somewhat small, proprietary Lithium Ion battery. Claimed life of 165 pictures per charge (with flash used on 50% of shots), although less in practice, so budget for a second battery
Zoom control is small and not very comfortable to use
4-way controller button is a little stiff & uncomfortable in use; and the display distorts slightly when pressed

Best Internet price found: £249.99 inc. VAT

Star Rating: 7 Stars A small, slim and stylish digital camera which will sell well because of its pocketability and twist design.
